// SECTION 01In plain English.

We made BeauCV because a résumé is a deeply personal document, and the existing tools treat your data like a commodity. We don't.

BeauCV is published by EURL ZENATI, a French société à responsabilité limitée à associé unique registered with RCS Paris under SIREN 981 830 227, with its registered office at 60 rue François Ier, 75008 Paris, France (in this policy: "BeauCV", "we", "us").

The whole policy in four lines:
1. We collect only what we need to build your résumé.
2. We never use your résumé content for training.
3. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising.
4. You can export or delete everything at any time, from one button.

// SECTION 02Data we collect.

We collect three categories of data:

  • Account data. Your name, email, and password hash. Optionally a profile photo.
  • Résumé content. What you type into BeauCV — work history, education, skills, the job descriptions you paste in to tailor against.
  • Usage data. Pages visited, features used, anonymized event data so we know what's working. We use first-party analytics; no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no third-party advertising trackers.

We do not collect biometric data. We do not request access to your contacts. We do not read your inbox.

Data you provide about others. If you include personal data about third parties in your résumé — such as references or colleagues — you are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so, and for the accuracy of the information you enter. BeauCV processes that data solely to provide the Service to you.

// SECTION 03How we use it.

  • To run the product: store your résumés, render them, export them, send them where you ask us to.
  • To improve the product: aggregate, anonymous metrics about feature use.
  • To keep things safe: rate-limiting, fraud detection, account recovery.
  • To talk to you, when you ask: support replies, billing notices, the occasional product update if you've opted in.

We do not use your data for behavioural advertising, ever. We do not build a profile of you to sell.

// SECTION 04Rewrite processing & training.

Your résumé content is never used for training by BeauCV or any processor. When you ask BeauCV to rewrite a bullet, your text is sent to a zero-retention processor that deletes the request within 30 days, or in some cases immediately.

The processors we use as of this version are listed below. Both are bound by a written data-processing agreement that forbids training on our inputs and outputs.

// SECTION 05Sharing & sub-processors.

We share the minimum data needed to provide the service, with the following sub-processors:

  • Scaleway SAS — hosting and database (fr-par region, Paris, France; data stored in the EU).
  • Stripe — payments. We never see your card number.
  • Postmark — transactional email.
  • Plain — customer support inbox.
  • Provider One, Provider Two — rewrite processing, zero retention.

We will publish 30 days' notice before adding a new sub-processor, and you may object before it takes effect.

// SECTION 06Retention & deletion.

We retain your résumé content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a résumé, it's removed from active databases immediately and from all backups within 30 days.

The résumé editor also keeps a working draft in your browser's local storage so you don't lose changes. This draft never leaves your device until you save to your account; it is namespaced per signed-in account and cleared when you sign out. Clearing your browser data removes it.

If you delete your account, everything is gone within 30 days — including backups. We keep only the minimum data required for legal/tax reasons (e.g. payment records for 7 years), and that data is logically separated from product systems.

// SECTION 07Your rights.

Whatever jurisdiction you sit in — GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PIPEDA, the UK GDPR, you name it — you can:

  • Export everything we have on you in a standard JSON format.
  • Correct anything that's wrong.
  • Delete your account and all associated data.
  • Object to processing or restrict it.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in France, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
  • Define directives on the fate of your data after death (Art. 85, French Data Protection Act).

All of this is one click in Settings → Privacy, or by writing to privacy@beaucv.fr. We respond within 7 business days.

// SECTION 08Security.

Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Access to production systems is gated by hardware-key MFA. We are SOC 2 Type II certified and undergo an external penetration test annually. Read more in our Security overview.

// SECTION 09Children.

BeauCV is not for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age, and if we learn we have, we delete it.

// SECTION 10Changes & contact.

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect, and post a summary on our changelog.
